Kelly L. Traver concentrates her practice in the areas of Estate and Trust Administration, Estate Planning, Elder Law, Commercial and Residential Real Estate and Banking, and Business and Corporate Law. She is admitted to practice in the States of New York and Connecticut.
Ms. Traver provides legal assistance to fiduciaries and beneficiaries in judicial proceedings involving probate and administration. Her practice includes the preparation of wills, trusts and related estate planning documents and advises individuals on various asset protection and estate tax savings plans.
Ms. Traver advises businesses and individuals in all aspects of business transactions including guidance on formation of different types of entities, asset purchases and sales, real estate transactions, lease agreements, financing and succession planning.
Ms. Traver represents individuals and businesses in virtually all aspects of residential real estate matters including purchases and sales, lease agreements, foreclosures and evictions.
Ms. Traver frequently lectures at seminars on the topics of real estate, retirement and estate planning.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Traver participates in several charitable and community organizations. She is currently Immediate Past-President of the Dutchess County Bar Association. Appointed by the Appellate Division, Ms. Traver also serves on the Board of the Ninth Judicial Grievance Committee. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Arlington Education Foundation. She was the Past Chair of the Board of Directors of Dutchess Outreach, Inc., an organization that provides life sustaining resources to community residents in need. Ms. Traver was past vice president and treasurer of the Mid-Hudson Women’s Bar Association.
Ms. Traver was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York. She attended Pace University and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1997. In 2000, she obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Pace University’s School of Law, with a Certificate of Health Law and Policy. She is a member of the New York State, Dutchess County and Mid-Hudson Women’s Bar Associations. In 2008, Ms. Traver was a recipient of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 40 under 40 Shaker Award. In 2012, she was an Honoree at the New Horizons Foundation Community Leadership Breakfast.
